I have found different versions of this burnt-umber Saga seed on the forest floor in Nicaragua and on temple grounds in Bali. They form in the spiraled pods of the giant sandalwood tree. The pods turn brown, coil up and split as they ripen. revealing these small bright strong little treasures.
The circular spiraling shape of this earring reminds me of a Native American Dream Catcher. Dream Catchers are used to filter out bad dreams and only allow good thoughts to enter our minds as we sleep. Here, a red seed is suspended inside two orbiting silver rings.
